These interactive animations describing how Djazz artificial intelligence works for musical improvisation were developed in 2023-2025 by the Junior Enterprise of the Telecom engineering school using the open source REACT Javascript library. Funding was provided by the ANR MERCI project led by IRCAM and CAMS (U.M.R. 8557), by the ERC REACH project, and by the Djazz association. The creation of an audio avatar of harmonica player Toots Thielemans was carried out in 2022 for the Royal Library of Belgium (KBR) symposium in Brussels. All other parts, created with the great musician Bernard Lubat, are unique archival documents showing the early stages of this research on artificial intelligence applied to improvisation, funded in 2004-2005 by the French Ministry of Research. These animations were initially programmed using Flash but no longer worked after Flash was removed by Adobe.
